1. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Well, got some good clips in the 'new' system I checked out... it's crazy-dead there, no traffic, and all the locals don't even look twice in my direction. Boring. Got some good clips of warping around, killing destroyer and cruiser rats- but no b...

2. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Just quick word: @[whoever-said-flying-frigates-and-break-even]: That's funny you say that... I'm flying frigates and making a ton of isk... far more than "breaking even" so please, your misinformation is part of the reason people don't want to go...

3. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
and to put things straight a bit... Nur has it in for this project- he's the most anti-lowsec individual I've ever met, and in my experiences thus far is blowing things out of proportion........ or he's only ever gone into crowded lowsec hubs and ...

4. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Sorry for not keeping up-- kinda forgot that I had this thread here... I'll try to summarize some things. Today I landed a 50mil isk "Lowgrade Snake Alpha" implant... If you manage to keep with it, lowsec can reward you quite generously. To a po...

5. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I'm by no means angry, I'm being resolute- it was turning into a flamewar.. and negative thoughts. Sure, it's free to discuss what lowsec has to offer, but my whole point is to just put it out there that it's completely possible and actualy quite...

6. The end of EVE Online as we know it! - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I just threw up in my mouth a little. I wonder if there'll be griefing? It'd be awesome! corpse-camp a penguin with your frog to keep the [insert fluffy cute currency here- probably hugs] farmers from getting the rare spawn butterfly that gives...

7. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Okay... so this is turning into a flame-war, and it was never meant to be that in the first place... First off, let me say I don't give a rat's ass what any of you really think- sorry. Some of you support it, others don't- doesn't matter to me, I...

Edited by: Relapse Dawn on 13/02/2008 17:21:19 Originally by: Nur Vadenn Perhaps you need to take a step back and calm down. First, there is no need for ad hominem attacks here. I don't see anywhere where I claimed "low-sec is teh devi...

Edited by: Relapse Dawn on 13/02/2008 08:58:58 Edited by: Relapse Dawn on 13/02/2008 08:58:35 Well, you've definitely described it a lot more intensely than I can say I've felt... But I don't think I've ever had to fight 'to the death' irl...

10. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Originally by: Nur Vadenn No offense to you Relapse Dawn , but this really does prove very little. From your original post it sounds like you're an experienced player that re-rolled a new character for this experiment. This alone taints t...

11. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I think the issue with lowsec mining is that it is very dangerous compared to just ratting, you sit vulnerable to rats and other players, waiting for timed yields... in order to maintain a viable operation you really have to have an escort. While...

12. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I don't engage rats close to the belts, always gain distance and have them "chase" me so they're clear of all obstacles (for a clear orbit) and in case vicious players warp to 0. and yes, by security rating you can get a general gist of what a p...

13. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
The biggest rat in a .5 belt, I've EVER seen is frigate class. Highest .5 rat bounty? maybe a piddly 30k. Highest .3 rat bounty so far? 175k, battlecruiser rat. Takes a little bit, but the time it takes to kill it would be roughly equal to the a...

14. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
@WetFerret: I invest 300k-500k isk in a ship (this is if you buy at good prices), in 30mins I've made close to that if not more back. I'm 100% serious. I kill battlecruiser rats, it takes a little while, but the 175k bounty is worth it. I don't t...

16. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]

17. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I'll post it over there too, thanks. Close range weapons use less powergrid (which most frigates don't have a lot of anyways) and do more damage... all from the relative safety of 500m-1000m. The only rats that are truly a threat are destroyers.....

18. Surviving (and profiting) in low-sec - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Dang message length limits... If anyone wants to help out, isk donations are not against the rules-- it just adds to the overall view that lowsec isn't hell. I've already had one player that ganked me reimburse me for the ship... Not everyone in ...
